The Story Behind the Brand
Wismed was founded in 2001 by Anesthesiologist, Pawel Wisniewski. Driven by his love of physics and medicine, Pawel started Wismed to give surgeons better tools and eliminate their frustrations in operating theater.
Today Wismed has a range of medical devices that are sold throughout the world including Japan, South Africa and several countries in Europe.

Hands-on Approach We are part of every step of design and development, ensuring great quality at all touch points.
The Urology Collection
We spent years studying renal hydrodynamics and the effects of irrigation on intrarenal pressure during flexible ureteroscopy, then we applied this knowledge in the design of the devices in our urology collection.
The WiScope® Collection
We have teamed up with OTU Medical Inc. a Silicon Valley based medical tech company to bring specialists across South Africa a reliable Single-Use Digital Flexible Ureteroscope and Cystoscope. Featuring excellent handling, deflection radius, small shaft and the highest resolution.
ISO 13485 Certified
Wismed is Certified to ISO 13485:2016 Quality Management Standard and our products carry a CE marking which means that we comply to the highest international and European standards for health, safety, and environmental protection.
What’s Next
Having been recognized by the European Union with award of funding in the category of Intelligent Development to foster innovation and research in minimally invasive urology, we are in the advanced stages of developing a novel ueretric access sheath that is expected to improve the outcome of kidney stone treatment and reduce recurrence of the disease.
