Advantages of Peditrol

Irrigation is a mandatory requirement during ureterorenoscopy. Yet it is poorly understood while being the leading cause of complications due to high intrarenal pressure (IRP).

We have made it our mission to understand irrigation and its effect on IRP. The main determinant of IRP is irrigation volume and that is why we made Peditrol. As a low volume system (2.7ml) that delivers 50% less fluid than a bulb device; resulting in less fluid requiring drainage and therefore a reduction in sustained renal intrapelvic pressure.

Low volume

The device limits the irrigation bolus size to below 2.7ml and limits the overall amount of fluid used during the procedure.

Up to 50% less fluid used resulting in lower volume requiring drainage.

Less risk of complications

Reduction in sustained renal intrapelvic pressure.

Reduced risk of pyelo-tubular and pyelo-venous backflow and reduced risk of oedema, sepsis, pelvic pain and SIRS.

Foot-operated control

No need for assistance as the surgeon controls irrigation using his foot.

Less chance of stone migration during surgery thanks to instant and precise fluid displacement.

When you are a surgeon, your greatest tools will always be your hands. With Peditrol, you can use your hands to manipulate kidney stones while your foot controls the speed and force of bolus delivery to ensure perfect visibility without the risk of hyperdistention. The overall outcome is an easer faster and more cost-effective surgery, and improved patient safety.
